Even if you’re not a rock and roll fan, there are certain bands that have left their mark in the world of music history. Rockers with evolving talent and an energetic stage presence can’t be denied no matter how long they’ve been around. Perfect examples of bands that have crossed the generation gap are The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. The Stones and Aerosmith are two rock and roll legends that have been selling hit records since the 1960’s and 70’s. And both bands along with other legends are at it again, releasing new albums, touring the globe and selling out venues just like they did in the beginning.
The Stones have been in the music libraries of generations and they continue to produce great rock and roll. After 50-years of music making, the Rolling Stones unveiled yet another new album, titled simply, “Grrr!” Though the album includes only two new tracks, the 89-track, 6-disc version is endorsed by fans and collectors alike. Lead singer Mick Jagger, at age 69 continues to provide energetic performances and even hosted Saturday Night Live’s Season Finale in 2012.
For Aerosmith, the release of their new album titled, “Music From Another Dimension” is their first attempt at a new release of their own songs since 2001. In true Aerosmith fashion, the tracks successfully blend blues, rock, power ballads and pop into an all-inclusive album that you can play from start to finish without hesitation. Along with the release of the album, Aerosmith toured North America in the summer of 2012. Reviews of the new album and subsequent tour all seem to agree, despite the age of the band, they can still rock and roll.
